Natalie Hymes DeLettre, age 80, peacefully left us on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 to live with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. The native and lifelong resident of Savannah was a graduate of Savannah High School, Armstrong Junior College and Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. Mrs. DeLettre was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple where she worked in the nursery for a number of years and was a member of the Rebel Chapter of the American Businesswomen’s Association. Mrs. DeLettre was a registered Medical Technologist ASCP from 1951 until her retirement in 1992. She was born June 30, 1927 and was the youngest child of Milton and Georgia Hymes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Milton and her sister Jean Hymes Pittman.
She has been a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmama, aunt, cousin and friend. She has always been the cornerstone of our family and we have been extremely blessed by her unending love, care, support, her comforting smiling face.
She will be greatly missed by her devoted and loving husband of almost 55 years, Dewey Franklin DeLettre, Jr. of Savannah, her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Randy Ray of Fletcher, NC, her sons and daughters-in-law, Dewey and Kathryn DeLettre and Daniel and Angela DeLettre both of Savannah and David and Gail DeLettre of Keller, TX., her sister, Comer Gay of Decatur, GA., her grandchildren, Joey Ray and wife Kyndra, Cindy Ray Cope and husband Stephen, Ryan DeLettre, Blake and Briana Olsen, Taylor DeLettre, Lindsey and Brittany DeLettre and Grant DeLettre. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11a.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with burial in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
